Springfield, MO
We are in Springfield, MO this weekend for the NCHB Tip Off Tournament (National Christian Homeschool Basketball) which begins tomorrow afternoon. Our drive was beautiful even with foggy, misty weather. The colors of the trees are wonderful even without Vermont’s brilliant reds. I was so very tempted to stay home this weekend (not having any boys playing now makes going to basketball games a bit boring), but my dh wanted me to come along. So I sadly left my new quilt behind. Yesterday I made great progress: did all the cutting (simple 2″ strips), organized them all, and did the first step (turning 6 strips of each of the 20 colors into 6 strips of 10 piles) by assembly line sewing. The pressing took a fair amount of time. How I wanted to stay home and work on it more, but…..I’m here in Springfield.
And I will enjoy my time while here.Boy, I think I found the secret to getting comments (we LOVE comments don’t we?). Just ask what your opinion is on something. At first I thought the #3 photo would win, now I’m not so sure. Interestingly, none of you picked my favorite which is #1.
Well, Tim’s off to a dinner meeting and I’m off to dinner at Cracker Barrel, I hope. The weather here just makes me want their beans and greens. Should I take a photo for you, Patty?? Food and Faces.

Well, I’ll let you pick…food or faces? be creative! maybe food ON faces?
) hehe. your face? Sorry. I’ve been stuck with 5 kids today, and the first day back is always…Fun. Right. The weather’s the same here, and we had bean soup & corn bread (the 2nd day of it, so it was better tonite, AND I didn’t have to cook!!) I’d gladly beam myself over to Cracker Barrel with you–their french toast sure sounds good!! have fun!
Boy, that was a fast comment! So are you living connected to the computer now?? I miss you…wish I could have been with you for bean soup and corn bread.
No, I’m not connected to the computer, usually. During the day I pop in & out (on & off?) Tonite J, A & A are at church helping set stuff up, so, as you know, when the cat’s away, the mouse will play…This is my junk food of late. I was Quite surprised to see you had Just posted!!
) I wondered if I’d catch you.
) I’ll Really work Hard at keeping my mouth quiet (good)–it’s my resident birdie that gets me in so much trouble–he thinks he’s part of the muppets’ peanut gallery. Sorry. xoxo
I am so sorry about Sunday. I have been busy with everything and I have not been in touch with everyone. I hope you have a good weekend even though you would rather be at home
